Banning gay marriage guarantees that the country will busy itself creating gay-inclusive alternatives to marriage (which will be tempting to heterosexuals) and bestowing legal rights and social recognition on cohabitation (which is open to heterosexuals by definition). The result will be to diminish marriage’s special status among a plethora of “lifestyle alternatives” – the last thing marriage needs.
Came across an article on the smuggling of foreign (read: Western, decadent, filthy) media, specifically videos, into North Korea. Some interesting observations:
1. A party document alleges that the US, Japan, and South Korea are besieging North Korea with pornographic videos, Hollywood movies and racy South Korean TV dramas.
2. Most of the material is channeled through its border with China.
3. Dear Leader Lil Kim has been reported as a connoisseur of foreign (blue included) films.
4. Free porn videos are given out when you purchase South Korean dramas.
I’d say this is a good thing – after all, the black market is probably a very significant stage leading to the emergence of capitalism. In the very least, some supply is conjured up in order to meet demand – essence of capitalist economics, no?

Oh boy… there goes the dream of the treble… Arsenal lost this afternoon to Man Utd in the semis of the FA Cup. Things are threatening to unravel for the Gooners, drawing last week against ManUre after leading for most of the match. Champs League coming up next week, followed by nearly back-to-back matches against Liverpool and Newcastle. Freddie Ljungberg and Jose Antonio Reyes have been injured… but Theirry Henry was mostly rested for this match — hopefully will be fresh to tear apart Chelsea.
